Art is subjective: Embrace your uniqueness

Every photograph taken, each word written, and every stroke of a brush carries a little piece of yourself.

This is one of the beauties of art, but also challenges.

You can pour your heart into what you create but you cannot control how others will perceive it.

All you can do is create what is true to you, what sparks your inner desires… And leave the interpretation of it to itself.

To understand that channeling your creativity and authenticity into your work is crucial.

It is an extension of yourself.

A glimpse into your inner world, and how you experience it.

What resonates with you may not evoke the same emotions in another. And even though this can be disheartening at first, it is part of what makes the world beautiful – diversity.

Diversity enriches our collective human experience.

Through diverse artistic expressions, we gain insight into different worldviews, traditions, and histories.

We learn to empathize with others and appreciate the richness of our shared humanity. Whether it’s through the lens of a photographer capturing moments of everyday life, or a writer sharing tales of fantasy and adventure.

Each unique perspective adds a layer of richness to our collective experience.

To navigate these water comes with its challenges.

The fear of criticism.

The pressure to conform to trends and what you might think the general public wants to see.

Comparison with others.

But with this it is important to remember that art is not a competition. It is a personal journey of self-expression and exploration.

And it comes with great benefits such as:

Personal growth.

Motivates you on new ventures.

It teaches you to strive for excellence, creating the best end piece that you can.

So instead of letting subjectivity hinder you, embrace it as fuel for growth.

By embracing subjectivity you open yourself up to a world of possibilities. You learn to appreciate the diverse interpretations of your art. And in return gaining a deeper understanding of others.

Every perspective adds depth.

It can be easy to lose yourself.

When we live in a world which demands conformity, staying true to yourself can be seen as an act of defiance. And that can be uncomfortable.

But as you continue honing your own unique voice, you’ll build confidence in your art, develop your instincts, and learn to be vulnerable.

To be unapologetically authentic to your own expression is truly a beautiful thing, own it!

“We all live in the same world, but the way you see it is what matters.”
